These are some of the best incenses available from India - we have selected our very favorite scents from a vast selection of incense, and tried to describe them to the best of our ability. We hope you enjoy each and every one of these wonderful scents. =)

I make no apologies, almost!, that most of these incenses are champas/Durbars (like Nag Champa is). Champas are very popular and a lot of manufacturers for the US market in India are doing some beautiful things with champas! If they're not your thing, don't worry!, we still carry Samadhi and as we find more interesting non-Champa selections, we will add them here!

Balaj Ruda / Arruda Rue incense

In some cultures Rue has been believed to be a repellent for evil, so this incense is also known as 'Drive Out Badness' incense

This is a masala incense (the stick is a blonde color, unlike charcoal incenses that have a black stick) that smells like sweet herb/sweet pea and spring herbs on the unburnt stick. When burnt, you get a sweet pea, dry herb with some green leaves in the background of the masala scent. Very sweet, but with some herby green notes, and different.

Gateway of India is a light, bright and subtle floral that even those who don't love floral scents will appreciate.

The lightness of this scent is deceptive in a way, because the sweetness of the floral notes do come through, but it doesn't hit you over the head with a flower hammer.

Light, sweet, approachable and this will become a favorite of yours as it has become a favorite of ours!
Gateway of India 25g - $2.10

Hem Champa incense

A high quality offering from Hem, Hem Champa incense is rich, powdery and lovely. A beautiful lingering scent after you burn it. This is a very classic champa mix that's sure to make anyone who loves the sweet tones of the classic blue box Satya Sai Baba Nag Champa and red box Shanthi Nag Champa smile.
Hem Champa - 20 stick hex tube - $1.30

Mysore Sugandhi 777 Chandan Agarbatti

Previously Chandan 666, the name was changed to 777, but it's still the same wonderful woody sandalwood incense that you previously knew as 666.

This is a charcoal (black stick) type incense that smells like sweet sandalwood and flowers on the stick, and has a sweet floral/sandalwood with green in the background while burning.

Contains 25 sticks.
Chandan Sandalwood 666 renamed to 777 - $1.70

A rich wonderful floral champa - big thick sticks mean it takes longer to burn and releases a lot of fragrance that continues to linger a day or so after it's burnt. Incredibly wonderful.
Sai Flora 25g - $2.40

A very clean sweet incense floral/rose with a wonderful hint of spice, Samadhi has long been a favorite of ours. Sweet, mellow and euphoric
Samadhi Incense - $1.50

Aastha is a new star scent from Shrinivas Sugandhalaya, the makers of Satya Sai Baba Nag Champa and Super Hit and Satya natural. It's a beautiful sweet champa - very much in the vein of their Nag Champa, but without some of the notes in the Blue Nag Champa that may be too harsh. $0.90 per 8 stick box.

Satya Ajaro Incense

This is a mild but memorable sandalwood incense. This is sweet but not powdery. Fresh but not rain or with airy tones. Think of the desert. Think of a dry piece of sandalwood that you discover, warm and true to scent. That is the essence of Ajaro.

Satya Ajaro incense comes in a 15g box.
Ajaro incense - 15 gram box - $2.10

Satya Golden Era Incense

A rich and lovely Golden Champa with a 'clean'note to it. More woody then powdery and with a fresh but richly golden base note.

Satya Natural Rose Incense

The Satya naturals line gives you exactly what you expect - a rich perfumed incense that smells exactly like Rose.

This is a masala incense that features a heady Rose scent. This is more powdery, less green and with none of the lemony notes that Rose sometimes has. I'd call this a heady Florabunda rose, ripe rich and unabashedly luscious, mature and fragrant.

Satya Natural Rose incense comes in a 15g box.
Satya Rose Incense - 15 gram box - $1.69

Satya Natural Lavender Incense

The Satya naturals line gives you exactly what you expect - a rich perfumed incense that smells exactly like rich Lavender.

SAC Sandesh Palo Santo Incense

Palo Santo or 'Holy Stick' is a natural wood aromatic incense used for centuries by the Incas and indigenous people of the Andes as a spiritual remedy for purifying and cleansing. I'm not sure if it does any of that, but it smells clean, woody and wonderful!

SAC Sandesh Palo Santo Incense comes in a 20 stick hexagonal box.
Sandesh Natural Series -Palo Santo. 20 stick hex tube - $1.80

Goloka Nature's Nest Incense

The box says this is a unique blend of rare Herbs, Flowers, Honey, Resins and Oils. This is perhaps a richer counterpart to Royal incense. The herbs are dry and in the background, there's very little woods in this blend and the honey is a deep rich note that has resinous notes of Amber to our nose. If you like Nag Champas, this is a must-burn.

Goloka Nature's Nest Incense incense comes in a 15g box.
Goloka Natures Nest - 15 gram box - $2.50

Wonderful sweet champa. To my nose, Super Hit finishes a little sweeter and the Satya Natural finishes a little more herbal.
Satya Natural incense - 8 stick box - $1.20

A champa that smells very, mmm, green! It's very refreshing and.. green (those fans of Indian incense will know what I mean - you can't describe 'green', it's just what it is!) and the fragrance will linger for awhile after it's been burned.
Nag Champa Flora 15g - $1.50

Nepalese string incense is our probably third household favorite incense to burn.

It's spicy, a bit woody, a little herby and if you like tibetan incense and/or spicy/cinnamon incenses you will love this scent and must add it to your collection!
Nepalese String Incense - $3.00

This will become your favorite Nag Champa - this duplicates the original Nag Champa from years ago we all knew and loved! Your purchase of this incense benefits those who live in Tamil Nadu and provides women who are disabled, widowed or abandoned with job training and employment, helps build centers to provide health care, and provides education for children in the area.
Shanthi Nag Champa - 40g long stick - $3.70
