#1b is a 'natural' black color. In the photos above in the middle and on the left, #1 is on the left and #1b is on the right. In the photo on the right, a #1b wig is on the wig head with a #2 wig set on top. You can see that the #2 is a dark dark brown compared to the natural black of the #1b.
