Special Effects Candy Apple Red
Freshly dyed Candy Apple Red hair.
Melanie is pictured above with her Candy Apple red hair. She says:
"i first bleached my hair to a blonde/orange color before i put the
color on. i use 40v because my hair is naturally very dark and thick,
the only way i have ever been able to get it true blonde was stripping.
i waited a day before i put the color on, it came out a very vibrant
shade of fuschia in the light. it looks more red in this photo, but
during the day it was a very definite fuschia color, this shade has a
LOT of pink in it. i had it about 7 weeks before i dyed over it with
Deep Purple. i had light fading around the top/roots to pink/orange in
the last week. it stayed VERY well for the rest of the time, Special
Effects doesn't seem to fade so much as brighten up as it gets lighter."

Yosa, of Yosa's Silks and Velvets, is pictured above with her Candy Apple Red hair. She says (of the photo on the left): "This is my hair with candy apple red, mixed in with a fall. Candy apple red, when left on hair for an hour or more, is a deep rich red, with magenta and fuschia tones as it fades. It is the same tone as burgundy
fake hair, and it is very easy to find falls, and curls to add in, that
look very natural with it. It is brighter than the blood red, and deeper
in tone than the ruby red."
The photo of her on the right is taken in the shade, Yosa says the dye looks more rosey red in the sun
Special Effects Candy Apple Red lasts from 4-6 weeks depending on your hair's porosity. The more porous your hair, the longer it will last. Candy Apple Red is $9.99 for a 4oz bottle of color.
