"These were taken the day after dying, out in the sun. The roots are
Limelight and the rest is Blue Velvet with some Clairol Black at the tips
and framing my face. The Limelight faded after about two weeks but the Blue
Velvet stuck around four months or so before I finally dyed over it. My hair
is naturally medium brown and it was bleached and toned to as light as we
could get it before the colors went on. Sorry the pictures are so little, I
had to resize them to fit."

"
I picked up a bottle of Blue Velvet hair dye, and dyed it over bleached to yellow-white hair (I have naturally dark blonde hair, but I dye it a deep blood red with Herbal Essences...so I had to strip that out first >.<)
It turned out FAR darker than I was expecting, but I grew to love its indigoness. I thought it was cool how it changed in the sunlight.... The first picture was about three days after dying. The second was about two weeks. The last picture is about a month and a half (six weeks or so)

hair, and Boone has dark hair bleached light before dying."

"Everyone's been calling it purple. It's BLUE, people, the top 2/3 are
BLUE. Or at least they're supposed to be. But for me, after bleaching to
bright lemon yellow with 30 and 40 strength home kits, Blue Violet came out
so dark nearly all of it was lost to blue shadows for the first week or so.
It's been slowly coming out of its shell and showing me how vibrant it can
be, but still walks that line of royal blue that in many lights (especially
incandescent) looks blueviolet. I've been asked if I have black hair
underneath the blue, peeking out between; 'No, ma'am, that's just where the
lights are hitting it.'"

"I took pictures of my own foray into wild
dyeing. My sister helped me out and so my hair has stripes of blue
velvet and of purple smoke, as well as some areas where the two colors
got mixed before applying."
