Above is the "Brush Set 101" - which has all the brushes you need to do a basic face with.

From Left to Right:

We start off with an angled blush brush. The angle helps make the brush a little more precise in application than a brush that's rounded on top - and the angle works well for doing either highlighting or contouring. This brush is made from sable.

Next is your powder brush. It's for applying powders and anything that you want a large-area application of. The brush is 'floopy' (it's not super dense, like a buffer brush that you may apply a powder foundation with) to give you a light perfect dusting of powder or powdery highlighter

The first brush on the other side is your basic sable eyeshadow brush. This is what you'd choose when you put down your first color base on your eyes, highlight with under your brows and if you turn it sideways, you can apply a crease color with it at well.

Second on the right side is a taklon camouflage brush. The rounded tip makes it ideal for blending in concealer or other creme products (like blending a creme eyeshadow highlight under the brow). Taklon is wonderful to use with liquid or creamy makeup products

Next up is the taklon angle liner. This is wonderful for lining the eye or applying creme highlighter with.

Finally the 2 piece taklon lip brush. I *always* prefer covered lip brushes, and this one comes apart and slides up when you put the cover on the bottom. Terrific for applying your base lip color, or adding shine and gloss on top of it.

This set makes a wonderful place to start exploring the world of professional brushes from - or a good gift for someone who is just starting out with makeup or professional tools and needs a good place to start. The handles are around 3.5 inches long (measured from the top of the metal ferrule) and (closed) the vinyl pouch is 6.75 by 3.5 inches.
